Booksellers Aotearoa is the national industry body for the New Zealand book trade. Obvious worked across a brand audit, a content strategy workshop, the 2022 website rebuild and the Bookshop Day campaign — Booksellers Aotearoa’s flagship public moment celebrating physical bookshops across the country.

The Engagement

National peak bodies sit inside a particular communications challenge: a member-network audience that needs clear value, a public-facing campaign muscle that needs to land in mainstream cultural conversation, and a sector-advocacy position that needs to read credibly to government, media and partner organisations. The Booksellers Aotearoa engagement covered all three at once, anchored by the Bookshop Day campaign which gave the body a clear public moment in the calendar.
